Report
The Met Office forecast of torrential rain and gale force winds, failed to materialise until the afternoon. This was a well organised event, with plentiful drinks stations, on a very fast course, in not far short of ideal conditions, although it was a touch too windy especially on the coastal sections at the southern end of the course.
The only major problem proved to be the back markers from the much larger Half Marathon who had set off 30 minutes earlier, and who were running the same loop just the once. These hampered the progress of the faster marathon runners, especially in the narrower paths around the Cardiff castle section at around the 12mile mark.
The finish in the Millennium Stadium, was the icing on the cake, on what was an excellent event.
