Salisbury 5-4-3-2-1 Marathon (12 Aug 2007)

One of the most picturesque trail marathons and the idea is that you can count down the 5 rivers, 4 hills, 3 large country estates, 2 castles and 1 cathedral along the route. Weather was variable with some rain but generally pleasant.

Salisbury 5-4-3-2-1 Marathon (09 Aug 2009)

A fabulous day running in the country passing over 5 rivers, 4 hills, 3 large country estates, 2 castles, and 1 Cathedral. About half the marathon was on country roads and half on trail/fileds/nettles with the odd style and gate to negotiate. Great water stops every couple of miles were appreciated on what was a hot day and ok signage meant you could get round without a map fairly easily. A fair few hills made for good views over the countryside and there was even a field that claimed it had a bull in it (always a great sign to see whilst wearing a red serpie top!). The kind of run where chip timing isn't really necessary but they threw it in anyway, for the bargain price of a tenner.

Darren, Robin and Mark made it 1,2,3 placed serpies in the 30km.

Salisbury 5-4-3-2-1 Marathon (11 Aug 2013)

Tough course, but the beautiful scenery and glorious weather more than made up for it. A mostly off road route over bridleways and footpaths in the Salisbury countryside. Course includes 5 rivers, 4 hills, 3 country estates, 2 castles, the final mile passes by the wonderful Salisbury Cathedral. There is the choice to run an ultra, shorter distances or to walk. We thoroughly recommend this friendly well marshalled run.
