Dambuster Duathlon (20 Mar 2010)

This 10K/42K/5K duathlon is held on the same course as, and by the same
organisers as, the well-established Dambuster triathlon and the Vitruvian.
As it is a new event, the field was relatively small, at around 160, which
made for a nice, intimate event. The runs are pretty flat, traversing
around the side of Rutland Water, over the dam and back, but the hills on
the bike make up for that. The famous Rutland Ripples are the main climbs,
but there are a few other 'surprises' in there too!

The course was very well marshalled and signed, and the whole event had
the trimmings of a much larger one, with a lively PA and plenty of prizes.
All in all it is an excellent ealy season event, providing a good chance
to test out the course for races later in the year.
