Report

The Vienna Half Marathon is incorporated with the Vienna City Marathon, marathon relay, junior runs and fun run. Apparantly, it is the biggest sporting event in Austria, even though I noticed it clashed with the world handlebar moustache championships on the same weekend.

The weather was very hot and sunny, with luckily some cool breezes. The race is fast, flat and finishes in the City centre. The race is well organised (with the exception the shambles of the first water stop) and well supported. You can also enter on the day before the race, as I did, having not realised the race coincided with my weekend away. I even unexpectedly spotted another Serpie. Vienna is a very beautiful city and I would recommend this race.
