Serpie Trail - Farnham to Guildford 1 February 2020 (Saturday)

Hisayo Kawahara is leading a social trail running over the first (or the last) 11 miles of the North Downs Way from Farnham to Guildford on 1 February 2020.

We will follow the well-defined North Downs Way throughout until the River Wey, then, take a left turn to end the journey in Guildford.  The route is undulating with a few short hills.  Depending on the weather on the preceding week, it may be a bit muddy underfoot.  The pace will be very sociable and suitable for people who don’t take ‘running’ too seriously.  The route is suitable for the trail beginners, but you will need to have a fitness to run at least 10k without stopping.

There is a pub near the station where we will stop for a drink and some food before heading home.

TRAVEL

Start:  Meet at Farnham Station at 10.00am (train departs 08.54am from Waterloo Station, arriving Farnham at 09.55am)
Finish: Guildford Station around 12.30pm

WHAT TO BRING

It is an unsupported run with nowhere to leave bags at the start, so come in your running gear and bring only what you will take with you on the run.  We recommend you bring/wear:

  • Waterproof jacket (if rain is forecast)
  • Warm layers
  • Trail shoes with good grip
  • Water and snacks
  • Cash for lunch/drink

LET’S TALK

I know that you fine people are already doing this, but let’s make #runandtalk our priority.  The whole objective for this is to have a good time with a like minded people whilst doing something healthy!  Let’s #runandtalk.
