Welsh Castles Relay update

We have entered two teams to take part in the Welsh Castles Relay on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 June. However, for this to take place we will need a captain for each team and an overall manager. Sign-ups for both teams will only open once we have these roles covered.

Our application to take part in the Welsh Castles Relay on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 June has been successful, and we will be entering two teams, each of twenty runners – one in the open category and another in the women’s competition.  However, for this to take place we will need a captain for each team and an overall manager – please contact me at running@serpentine.org.uk if you are interested in volunteering for any of these roles.  Sign-ups for both teams will only open once we have these roles covered.

The Welsh Castles Relay starts in Caernarfon on Saturday morning and finishes in Cardiff late-afternoon the following day.  Although it is a fun weekend, we also want to do well, and it would be great to add to our long list of titles in both categories.

There is some organisation to do for example in recruiting runners and drivers, booking mini-buses, accommodation and a Saturday evening meal, and arranging runners for each stage.  It would be helpful if volunteers had run the Welsh Castles before, but this is not essential, and support and a handover will be provided.  In return, you will have the undying gratitude of your team-mates and the satisfaction of having helped organise what is always a great weekend in some glorious countryside.
