Serpie Marketing - Update

As Serpies we are proud of having a thriving running and triathlon community, and we always welcome new members – as all of us were once.  If you’re interested in helping the club have more new members and promote sessions and events within the club, you have an opportunity to do just that!

The marketing aspect of the club was established since the AGM in September 2023. Since then, we have been working out ways to market our club further whilst also evaluating what we have already been doing. We have now reached the point that we are focusing on a few key activities, in conjunction with social media and website upgrade which we are already doing. We would therefore like to see if some of you could provide the skills required.  You will join the current social media and marketing volunteers.


Who should join?

We are looking for people who can help with the following:

  • Online advertising – perfect if you have knowledge on advertising online, such as Google, Facebook or Instagram
  • Developing partnerships with charities, brands and other businesses – discounts, sponsorships, media collaboration, etc.
  • Promotional writing – website content, regular newsletters, printed matter, etc.
  • Website maintenance – content review, update, script change/coding, etc.

We would also be interested in asking an individual to take up more of a leadership role if someone is suitable for it.

We would stress that you don’t need to be a marketing professional in your day job. You also don’t need to have many years of Club membership – new members can offer just as important insight as longstanding ones. And as if it needs saying – you clearly don’t need to be a ‘fast’ runner! Ultimately, we’d like to invite those who can spare time and do something for the club in a fun and meaningful way.
