London Marathon
Club places for the London marathon; an opportunity to run part of the London marathon route as a training run; post London marathon pub
Every year, the London Marathon organisers allocate guaranteed places for members of running clubs like Serpentine. We choose to pass these on to members who have played an active part in making this such a great club in the past year. This year Hans Ho and Frank Womelsdorf received these highly coveted places. The details of how we allocate these places is here (note that there are some minor variations from last year), so do have a look at this if you want to maximise your chances of getting one of these places for 2025.
Instead of the Last Half of London, this year the Saturday Long Run route will run the London Marathon route from the start through the first 35km, finishing near Limehouse station on Saturday 9th March. To join this group either join at Baker Street station at 9:30 to travel together to Greenwich, or meet at Greenwich station at 10:00.
On the day of the London marathon, I'm sure there will be Serpies around the course supporting all our club runners. We will share more details on this nearer the time. We also have some space booked at the Barley Mow pub (104 Horseferry Road, London, SW1P 2EE) for the post marathon celebration from 13:30.
