Race conditions

Chilly and pretty nasty. 6°C, but strong winds added chill factor, especially after hail and heavy rain showers left runners soaked and splashing through puddles for the second half of the race.

See previous reports. 367 finishers in 2009. Traffic still a disadvantage and getting worse. Race reasonably organised and well marshalled, but there were complaints about the apparent absence of hot drinks promised at the end and (from first-timers) about the lack of signs to start/HQ. Accurate markers at every mile - useful benchmarking on the way to a spring marathon.
