Set in the beautiful town of Antwerp the weather at swim start was dry but overcast and windy. The swim was a narrow mass start that meant lots of hard work avoiding other swimmers and finding stride. During the bike section there was about 1 hr of rain that made conditions difficult and in fact dangerous with many cyclist coming off while crossing tram lines. The course certainly lived up to its reputation of being flat and fast. T2 was cobblestone terrain and difficult to navigate but the run was again flat, 3 laps of the very scenic town centre finishing in the Old Grote Market.
