Report
This was an enjoyable low-key road race along the scenic cliff tops and seafront just east of Bournemouth town centre, starting and finishing near Boscombe Pier. The first few miles are nice and flat along the sea-front, before heading back along the mildly undulating cliff tops (long slow climbs, none of them too steep), and finally a very fast last 500m or so down the steep hill to the finish. The race was well organised with an extremely friendly atmosphere, and it was good to try this slightly unusual and quite challenging distance – good for a PB! Very blowy conditions this year which made it more of a challenge, but the rain held off and there was even a bit of sunshine so no complaints really. I’d thoroughly recommend this race to fellow serpies if you ever find yourself on an Easter break down in sunny Bournemouth.
