Etape du Dales (17 May 2009)

110 miles of windswept moors, lush valleys, stunning dale views and remote villages, with over 11 000 feet of heavy climbing, and conversely 11 000 feet of brake-block melting descents, added to the unpredictability of Yorkshire spring weather, makes this a wonderful and challenging cycle-sportive.

Lucky with the weather this time (only 20 miles in the rain!), cool, and with tailwind for climb to Tan Hill but headwind for much of the second half. A must for Serpie cyclists! But get in quick, as the Etape du Dales sells out all 800 spots within 5 hours of going online in January!
