Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon (16 Sep 2001)

Five Serpies made it to Wales on Sunday 16 September for the Reebok DMX Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon. Near perfect conditions (broken clouds, light wind and a pleasant 14c temperature) on the mostly flat and very scenic course made for quick times. In the 3 to score team event, the 3 Serpie vet men were 30/40 in the \"Open\" and 18/26 in \"Vets\". PBs were set by Beate and myself (not sure if Moddy\'s time was or wasn\'t).
Larry Mathews, Thames Hare & Hounds, won the men\'s race in 1h05m08s. First male vet finished in 1h12m42s. Amanda Allen, Birchfield Harriers, won the womens race in 1h12m43s. First female vet in 1h26m50s.
