Serpie Planner - event reports

Petts Wood 10k (11 Oct 2009)

A very pleasant local run in SE London, mostly off-road. The route was a well-marshalled single lap, partly on residential roads and tarmac paths, partly through ‘undulating’ woodland. Although the club is apparently only three years old, the event was smoothly organised (we had pace corrals for lining up, bottled water, chip timing with same-day results, a start-line address by the Mayor of Bromley …) and enjoyed vocal support in several places. 650 finishers. There were a couple of 100-150ft ascents in the woods but nothing too sharp. I imagine some stretches could be very mucky in wet weather, but we had a fine day.
