Welcoming new Competitive Running Coach - Samuel Barnes - Serpentine Running and Triathlon Club

I am delighted to announce that Samuel Barnes has been appointed as the new Competitive Running Coach for Serpentine Running and Triathlon Club. Sam has shared a short introduction of himself below and would love to start his role by gathering your feedback via the questionnaire linked at the end of this email.

I am very excited and grateful to the club for the opportunity to take on this role. I’ve spent many years in the sport wearing all sorts of hats and have had the privilege of learning from many wonderful people; and I aim to use this knowledge while continuing to listen and learn from everyone.

As a coach, I’ve worked with athletes from near total beginners through to World and European Championship medallists. My approach is not rigid and dictatorial; I’ll be looking for ways to positively influence our performances and will bring relentless optimism, but won’t be pushing an agenda or seeking conformity.

It would be wonderful for our great club to be stronger and more competitive in the coming years. I truly believe we can achieve great things together and set an example for the sport at large while we’re at it.

I can’t wait to hear what people have to say and what people would like to see. Look forward to seeing many of you very soon.
