Triathlon
Serpentine is very active in the triathlon and multisports community. We are a keen and diverse group of triathletes and duathlon, aquathlon, aquabike enthusiasts, all the way from novices to age groupers and Ironman competitors. We are affiliated with British Triathlon and are members of the London Triathlon League. Serpentine is a Triathlon England registered Club and this gives you a discount on your individual British Triathlon membership. Being a British Triathlon member saves loads on race entries over the course of a year.
Triathlon Training
Serpentine offers a range of coached run and swim sessions, and club organised rides. Those are detailed in the Training Diary. You can also find who is coaching our sessions here.
We organise coached pool training sessions twice a week in central London. You will find more information on our swim sessions and how to sign-up here (opened to members only). Also once the water has warmed up in the spring we organise open water sessions at the Shepperton Lake.
Each week-end, we hit the roads for informal group rides. The week-end rides are opened to cyclists who can comfortably ride 60kms and more. We also aim to organise a more social ride once a month for less confident cyclists. Details and sign-up for each ride are found on the events calendar and on the Triathlon Chat WhatsApp group. You can find more information on our cycling sessions here.
Competition
Serpentine members participate in a huge range of races during the year. To plan your future races look at the Serpentine Race Planner, which lists most triathlon, duathlon and cycling events that could be of interest to Serpies in the coming months. Use MyEvents to see who else is racing and tell others you are going. There is also an active WhatsApp group where members can discuss their race plans.
Races that the club focuses on include:
- Club Championships – compete to be the best Serpentine member over the various distances and disciplines.
- London League – score points for Serpentine by taking part in various London area triathlons, duathlons and aquathlons.
- National Club Relays – compete as a team in a relay event where everyone swims, bikes and runs.
