Dear Serpies,

We’re looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the Serpie Christmas Party on Friday 6^th December, at Magdalen Hall in Bermondsey, from 7pm.

However, we’re also aware that the cost of living is really high at the moment, and we know that things can be particularly tough at this time of year. As we don’t want anyone to have to miss the Christmas party for financial reasons, we’re getting in touch to remind members that there are still some subsidised tickets available. The cost of these tickets is fully covered by the club.

If you’d like to apply for one of the remaining subsidised tickets, please send an email to our secretary, Catkin Shelley, with Christmas Party Subsidised Ticket as the subject.

We’d also like to reassure members that all applications are treated in confidence, and you won’t be asked to provide any evidence of your financial situation. Applications are based purely on trust, and the available subsidised tickets will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Once an application has been accepted by the secretary, you’ll be able to select your food choices and sign up on the Serpentine website, but the price of your ticket will be reduced from £58 to £0. Your name will appear in the “Attending” list on the webpage, in exactly the same way as members who have paid the full ticket price.

Please be aware that the deadline to apply for a subsidised ticket is Friday 15^th November. If any of these tickets remain unclaimed after 15^th November, they will be released on general sale.

The deadline for buying non-subsidised tickets is Friday 22^nd November. However, the venue has limited capacity, and tickets are expected to sell out before this date.

What is included?

Your ticket covers you for the following:

• A drink from the bar on arrival (choose from a pint of beer, ale or cider, a glass of wine, a single spirit with mixer, or a soft drink)
• Canapés served during the drinks reception
• A traditional 3-course meal with table service – starter, main course, and a Winter Wonderland-themed dessert experience, featuring a selection of delicious festive desserts
• A full evening of entertainment – DJ, dancing, and prizegiving
