Ready to Run? Beginners Course Starts 6th June

Runner in Hyde Park

Our next beginners course, Ready to Run, is an 8‑week programme starting on 6 June and delivered alongside our regular Saturday and Wednesday club runs. It’s ideal for runners who can already run for 10 minutes without stopping, graduates from our recent Couch to 5k course, people who are fit from other sports and those looking to return to running after time away.

What to Expect

Each week we’ll have:

  • One coached session focused on form, warm-ups, drills and pacing
  • One led run session building up the distance of easy effort running on club routes
  • One guided homework run to complete in your own time

We’ll also have a private WhatsApp group for encouragement and accountability as well as the support of an established, friendly running club.

Our Goal

In the final week, we’ll complete a group 5k at a local parkrun — a supportive, celebratory milestone.

By the end of the programme, you’ll be able to run continuously for 30 minutes, know some of our club run routes and have a 5k benchmark time to build from. Many runners go on to join our Improvers’ programme next.

Is This the Right Course for You?

This course is for you if you:

✔ Can already run for 10 minutes, are fit from other sports (including recent Couch to 5k graduates), or are rebuilding your running fitness after some time away

✔ Are motivated to complete one homework run each week

✔ Want structured support in a friendly environment

If you can already run comfortably for 30 or 40 minutes, our next Improvers’ course will suit you better.
