The setting for this event, in the Pyrénnées Winter Sports resort of Capcir, is but one part of a complete triathlon weekend including iron kids, super sprint, sprint, standard, half iron man and iron man. The swim for the Capcir Olympic distance event is a 750m triangular course in the lake Australian style (i.e. you get out and then get in and swim it again). The 42km bike ride takes in 3 cols in the mountains for a 755m total climb. The run is an out and back circuit half way around the lake. The whole area is stunningly beautiful - honestly as close to paradise as I can imagine.
