Starting from the estuary port town of Bideford in North Devon, this is a friendly, reasonably fast, and well-run local half marathon. It's a pretty course, skirting the River Torridge along country roads (sometimes undulating) in the outward half, then doubling back along the Tarka trail, an old railway track, where estuary winds were blowing fiercely this year.
