Report

This race took place within the London League event hosted by Serpentine ... in torrential rain! Perhaps not surprisingly, numbers were down, but 29 intrepid souls made it to the starting line.

The men's race was won by Ben Paviour, with Pete Noble second and Graeme Staddon third. The ladies' champion was Elinor Rest, with Annie Kane second, and Pat Kearsey third.

But it's Anthony Stranger Jones who now seems to have a strangle-hold on the 2001 Club Age-Graded Championships, after clocking up yet another win, with a performance of 82.97% in the 5M - in difficult conditions. The only other performance over or close to 80% was from Elinor.

I'm sure Ian Hall will be doing a full write-up of the league event, including James Paterson's run in the tenderfoot race, but particular thanks to the helpers on a foul day, particularly to Phill Harris, who set the course, and then missed his own start.
