Liechtenstein - not easy to get to and not much there when you do. First Alpine marathon of the 3 Mountain Marathon Cup races (Zermatt and Jungfrau are the other 2, rather more prestigious, races). Race starts at a business park not near to anywhere and fairly low key race with 700 runners, though a pretty quick field. 10km on the flat road before unrelenting long hill climbs on trails into the Alps, passing Liechtenstein castle, fields of cows wearing bells and a couple of horn blowers.

A well organised race - water stations, course markings, transport from finish etc all spot on. Race mementos included good technical t-shirt and Swarovski crystal bear.
