Report

Overcast, light rain at times, very windy on exposed
peaks, sodden underfoot, huge puddles, VERY MUDDY!

Only a small group of serpies joined the largest ever
field for the 'Plod' this year in conditions that were described by
the organiser as "the heaviest underfoot in the history of the race".
He wasn't kidding, even though the heavy rain from earlier in the day
had diminished to a light drizzle the course was absolutely sodden
with roads and tracks turned into muddy rivers and flat areas becoming
(sometimes waste deep) ponds. The girls did remarkably well coming
away with some silverware in the form of both third placed woman
(Tania Shaw) and women's team (Tania, Lisa Wray and Paula Redmond).
All in all it was a highly enjoyable and successful day.
