Report

Saturday was about as perfect a day for cycling as you could have hoped for: the crisp early start turned into beautiful blue skies and a windless day with perfect temperature. 10 Serpies set off from Box Hill on the "Legs of Steel" ride organised superbly by Ful-on-Tri from Box Hill. The route, which took in the finest of the Surrey Hills, was nothing short of a brutal 81km and 1600m of climb. All Serpies returned home safely and put in commendable performances with 3 Gold and 7 Bronze placings. Well done to Angus Beaumont who came home as the first Serpie in a time of 2:25:20 ... Angus then went on to do the Time Trial on Sunday! Like most people I collapsed at the top of the hill and never has a cake and tea tasted quite so good.
