Report

The swim, a point-point course across the lake and finishing in a canal was warm, clear and easily the nicest tri swim leg I've ever done.

With around 1000m of ascent on the cycle stage and much of the downhill being technical with hairpin bends, this was never going to be a PB course. Even so, I was still surprised at just how hard the bike leg was!

The run was three laps of the lakeside park and the heat and tiredness from the hard bike stage were really beginning to take their toll by this point for most athletes, including me.

In the end, a PW and the hardest Olympic I've ever done. Would I do it again - yes - no question! It was brilliantly organised and the scenery was stunning.
