Report
A magnificent second place for Alan Hall in the 9th Cape Wrath Marathon rounded off an excellent week of running. The marathon is split into 22 miles to and from the Cape Wrath Lighthouse, with a short ferry trip back to the mainland and a 4.2 mile run into Durness village. It is hilly but runnable (the steepest hill being right at the start), mostly on track and the last section on roads. Other races during the week were a half marathon on the Monday (there was an option of a 10k - which Mariell Westlund won), a hill run on Tuesday, an 8 miler around Durness (hillier than the hill run!) on Wednesday, and an innovative beach run on Thursday. The marathon can also be run as a relay, with all the Serpie teams doing well. With lots of social events , the 13 Serpies had a great week.
