Report

One of the best organised marathons I have come across, about 1300 entrants, on what the organiser claim to be one of Australia’s fastest marathons. Despite rain for first 90 odd minutes, their claim seemed in part to be substantiated at the sharp end, by both the men’s and women’s winners continuing on after the marathon to also claim the 50 km ultra race (both setting Australian 50km records and a world f40 50k record.)

Course was a flat start around Canberra past many of the land mark buildings, followed by 2 out and back sections on motor way along the lake (and bush) with some slow climbs / descents. Only one small criticism would be the camber on the road on the out and back sections.
