Report
With a turn-out of around 1200 participants this
event, organised by Beverley Athletics Club, is very
popular among Yorkshire runners.
Beverley, being a mini version of York, didn't have a
wide enough street from where to start the race -
hence, unless you were right near the front, you were
in for a slow start.
Still it was quite pleasant running through the
cobbled streets and around the Minster on a bright
Sunday morning. The course wound its way out of the
town and into countryside near the race course. Very
scenic race, with the first 3 miles going uphill, and
a nice descent to the finish.
Lots of crowd support, especially in the last couple
of kilometres, and a big cheer from the commentator
and the folk in the town square.
Facilities were good - changing/shower facilities in
the sports centre, sunglasses as a giveaway and
plentiful refreshments. With the 10k race being
preceded by a 2km fun run this makes for a good family
morning out."
