This is one of the most fearsome half IM triathlons in France: 1 loop swim across Lac Matemale at the foot of the ski resort of Les Angles, a testing 1900m of climbing on the 92km bike ride and a killer of a 21.1km mainly trail run with 500m of climbing. The pain was eased by stunning scenery and beautiful sunshine. A friend who did it with me said it is considerably harder than the Outlaw IM. Rob
