Ben Cope

BTF Level 2

Run Leader

Experience and Achievements

Ben joined Serpentine in 2005 to complete the Berlin marathon. His personal running goals are around marathon training, knocking almost 1 hour off his Berlin time in London 2012. During his time at the club, Ben has also completed a number of triathlons, the longest being the Vitruvian 2010 in 5hrs 11mins. He competed in swimming as a child and also during university (greatest achievement was attending BUSA for 200m free) so quite enjoys the aquathlon format. In 2010 he was the club aquathlon champion.

Interests and Activities

Ben is keen to help members of the triathlon squads complete their season goals, in particular in 2013 the performance section achieving a spot in the world championships in London, whilst helping others to successfully complete their first Half IronMan, as he did in 2010. Of the three disciplines, he focuses his efforts on swim and run but is keenly learning more about cycling.

Involvement with Serpentine

Ben currently co-leads the intermediate triathlon squad with Margaret Sills, Kristin Duffy and Will Jones.
