Andy Robbins

Coach in Running Fitness (CiRF), Coaching Assistant, EA Local Coach Development Programme

Experience and Achievements

Andy has been coaching since 2010 and running at a club level for many more. He has PBs of 2:38 over the marathon distance and 1:14 at the half marathon, and has regularly featured in all the relay and cross-country teams.

Injuries over recent years led to a serious interest in helping others achieve their potential and a quick progression through the newly reorganised coaching qualifications offered by UKA.

Interests and Activities

Andy has a particular interest in the performance end of endurance running and has helped many Serpentine athletes take chunks off personal bests across a spectrum of distances. Particular highlights include the relay sucesses of the Serpentine Ladies and gold at the EA National Marathon Champtionships 2014.

He offers coaching input to the whole Paddington group and more personalised coaching to committed athletes looking to develop their running over the longer term across distances from 5k through to Marathon.

He is an active member of the EA Local Coach Development programme working with national level mentors and also helps out with Flying Coach workshops.

Involvement with Serpentine

Andy coaches at the Paddington Track session as well as at some of the more informal get togethers on Wednesdays / Thursdays by some of the more performance orientated groups.
