New Year’s Day 10k – More volunteers needed!
Volunteering – Sign-up to volunteer here!
Thanks to those who have already signed up so far. At the moment we are looking for a further 10-15 volunteers. The race is only possible with the help of Serpie volunteers that marshal the course, provide water, give out medals and generally enjoy the festive atmosphere in Hyde Park. If you are in London on New Year’s Day, please help us make the NYD10k a reality by signing up to volunteer here.
As usual after staging the event, all Serpies will gather in a nearby pub. Please join us there!
A few days before the event, we will be in touch with everyone who will volunteer regarding details of the day. We are also planning to do a special club run in the morning of New Year’s Eve along the route, so that we can all familiarise with the 10k course.
If you have any questions or preference as to your role, do not hesitate to contact the race organisers.
Running ballot – now closed
As previously mentioned, this year we opened a ballot to give some members the chance to enjoy this wonderful event from the runner’s perspective. The ballot is now closed – thanks to those who have applied. The successful runners will be contacted by the organisers this week. Please note that unless you have your places confirmed by the race organiser, please do not run in the event. Please also note that any entry for the ballot via the volunteer registration link will not be counted from now on.
Help us spread the word!
Whether you are running or volunteering, please help us spread the word to all your friends to make the event even more memorable! You can share, like or comment on our social media posts about the race (on Facebook or Instagram) or simply direct your friends to the sign up page at Active Training World.
Finally, once again it is worth mentioning that for the first time in the race’s history, we will have a non-binary category, as well as male and female. We are proud to be an inclusive club and we will be glad to make sure running is for everyone!
Merry Christmas, and we will see many of you on the first day of 2023!
