Fourth SAL match 4th July – Call for Athletes

Events where you can compete are:
TRACK
100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 5000m men AND women, 100/110m hurdles, 400m hurdles, 2000m steeplechase (men) or 1500m steeplechase (women), 4 x 100m relay, 4 x 400m relay
FIELD
High jump, long jump, triple jump, pole vault, shot, discus, javelin, hammer
Two scorers are needed for each event and non-scorers are welcome. We also really want our U17 and U20 young athletes to compete as part of the team.
5000m race for women
This is the first time the SAL has agreed to a 5000m race for women, and we want to see a good turn out for the race as we were one of the clubs pushing for it to be on the timetable. So if you don’t normally do track and field as you think it’s too short – this race is for you. Please note it will be held as a separate race from the men’s 5000m.
Email the team captains to sign up and info. Any standard is welcome: it is a very sociable event and you never know what you could be good at until you try it.

Officials needed
As well as athletes we also need to provide officials and helpers to help with the field and track events: no previous experience needed and any contribution will be highly appreciated. Plus, you can contribute as well to our team’s score, as helpers score points as well!
Helpers needed as follows:
- Field officials and helpers
- Track officials and timekeepers
Please get in contact with Steph Vaatz to sign up.
Please also put the last SAL match of the season in your calendar:
- 15th August – Newham
Thanks
Lisa & Nick.
