Both the Serpie men’s and women’s teams are in second place in their divisions and the men’s team were joint winners at the last race at Perivale. It would be great to end the season on a high and score as many points as we can at the Scrubs. Don’t forget – no matter what your speed, you could push someone from a rival club down the field, so everyone is both welcome and needed!

Help needed as well as runners

This fixture is being arranged jointly by Thames Valley Harriers and Serpentine. So, as well as needing lots of Serpies to run, we need to find a small number of marshals – ideally we need 8-10 marshals. If you’re planning to run, we’re not asking you to marshal instead, but if you’re injured, or not planning to run but would like to support (and come to the pub afterwards), please think about offering to marshal! Marshals will need to arrive by 12.30pm for a briefing at 12.45pm in the clubhouse. As an added incentive, marshals will be given free tea/coffee and biscuits!

We’ll also need a few marshals and Serpie runners to help with clearing the course after the race and with a bit of tidyng the clubhouse (before heading to the pub!)

The Serpie team manager would also appreciate one more helper to hand numbers out and help at the finish – needed from approx 1.15pm.

Course description

Flat scrubland and playing fields. Normally wet and muddy at the back of the course. Suitable for spikes. Please note that the senior women’s course will be approx 6.8k and the senior men’s approx 8.6k.

Car parking

Car parking adjacent to Linford Christie Stadium is free at the weekends, entrance from Du Cane Road (satnav postcode W12 OAE) between Hammersmith and Queen Charlotte’s hospitals and Wormwood Scrubs prison. Please note that there is a 6′ 6″ height barrier at entrance to car park.

Other information

All entries taken on the day. You do not need to enter in advance. You will need to collect your race number from the Serpentine Team Manager.

Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of your race. You must run in a Serpentine top.

Listening devices such as iPods are not allowed on safety grounds when competing.
