Southerns: Race day information & pub

Race day details for runners
Reminder – the race takes place on Parliament Hill Fields, Hampstead Heath on Saturday, 25th January. ENTRIES HAVE CLOSED. For those of you who have pre-entered, the race details are:
- 8km for women, starting at 2.05pm
- 15km for men, starting at 2.50pm
Both races will start promptly and before other races on the programme have finished. Chip timing will be used.
I will collect the numbers and be there from 12.45pm. We will meet by the northern side of the athletics track (same place as we met for London champs) and please get there AT LEAST 30 MINUTES before your start time to collect your race number and chip from me. You must run in a Serpentine Running Club top, not a Tri top.
Female and male changing, showers, etc will be available at the Lido (not at the track).
Travel to the race
The best option is public transport and there’s currently no scheduled engineering works that would affect travel. “Residents Only” parking restrictions apply in all surrounding streets until 1.30pm.
The nearest tubes are Kentish Town and Belsize Park tube stations which are 15 mins walk. Gospel Oak & Hampstead Heath Overground stations are closer and approx 5 – 7 minutes walk away. Please check www.tfl.gov.uk for other tube work and journey options.
Bus route 214 runs from Kings Cross, via Kentish Town (Northern Line) to Highgate Road every 10 minutes. Ask to get off at the Parliament Hill Fields stop. The bus journey from Kings Cross takes about 45 minutes. Please leave plenty time for your journey.
Pub – after race
I’ve booked some space at the Garden Gate pub on South End Road (next to Hampstead Heath Overground) from 4.30pm so come and join us for a drink or two.
Any questions, please email me directly.
Thanks very much
