The fourth Metropolitan League Cross Country race of the season is on Saturday 11 January at Horsenden Hill, Perivale. The Serpie men’s team have consolidated their second place in men’s division one but the women’s team slipped to second place in theirs after the Alexandra Palace races, so it’s really important we get as many Serpie runners out as possible on 11 January. No matter what your speed, you could push someone from a rival club down the field, so everyone is both welcome and needed!

We are also looking for one or two people who can help with giving out the men’s numbers before the race and also at the men’s finish. If you can help, please contact competition@serpentine.org.uk

Perivale Community Centre, Horsenden Lane South, Perivale, Middlesex UB6 7NP. The Community Centre has showers and changing facilities, but please note that at past cross country races the showers have been closed, so be prepared in case this is the case on 11 January!

The start/finish area is adjacent to Horsenden Lane North UB6 7PQ, approx 400m north-west of the Race HQ

Course description

Undulating course on open interlinking fields which include a number of sports pitches. Liable to be very soft underfoot throughout. Spikes are recommended.

• U13 girls – 1.20pm – 3km
• U15 boys / U17 men – not before 1.35pm – 4km
• U15 girls / U17 women – not before 1.40pm – 4km
• U20 / Senior women – not before 1.55pm – 6km
• U20 / Senior men – not before 2.35pm – 8km

Car Parking

Limited parking at Horsenden Farm, Horsenden Lane North, and in local residential roads. Competitors and spectators are advised to travel using public transport

Other information

All entries taken on the day. You do not need to enter in advance. You will need to collect your race number from the Serpentine Team Manager.

Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of your race. You must run in a Serpentine top.

Listening devices such as I-Pods are not allowed on safety grounds when competing.
