London cross country championships details – Saturday 16 November

Runner in Hyde Park

Race day information

Reminder – the race takes place on Parliament Hill Fields, Hampstead Heath on Saturday, 16th November. ENTRIES HAVE CLOSED.

For those of you who have pre-entered, the Championships will be run over a course of 6km for women, starting at 1.15pm and 10km for men, starting at 2.00pm. Both races will start promptly and before other races on the programme have finished. Chip timing will be used.

We will meet by the northern side of the athletics track and please get there well before your start time to collect your race number and chip from the Serpentine Team Managers. You must run in a Serpentine Running Club top (not a Tri top).

Female and male changing, showers, etc will be available at the Lido (not at the track).

Travel

I would advise you to use public transport. “Residents Only” parking restrictions apply in all surrounding streets until 1.30pm. The nearest tubes are Kentish Town and Belsize Park tube stations which are 15 mins walk. Gospel Oak & Hampstead Heath Overground stations are the nearest and approx 5 – 7 minutes walk away.

Please check www.tfl.gov.uk for other tube work and journey options. Bus route 214 runs from Kings Cross, via Kentish Town (Northern Line) to Highgate Road every 10 minutes. Ask to get off at the Parliament Hill Fields stop. The bus journey from Kings Cross takes about 45 minutes. Please leave plenty time for your journey.

Pub!

We generally head off to a nearby pub after the men’s race has finished. Details of which pub will be out nearer to the day.

Any questions, please email me directly.

Thanks very much
Lisa Pettit
