Great start for Serpies in the ATW Metropolitan League

82 Serpies raced yesterday in the first match of the ATW Metropolitan League. In the women’s race Andrea Clement was first Serpie to finish, in third place overall, and the A team got their 6th runner across the line in 22nd place to secure a victory in division one. The B team came 6th and the C team 9th (all in division one). In the vets division, our women’s A team were 3rd, but only 6 points behind 1st so it’s wide open for now. It was amazing to see so many new faces on the women’s squad and I’m looking forward to seeing them all again at the next match.
In the men’s race, Nick Torry finished 2nd overall and the men’s 12-to-score A team closed in 75 runners to give them 2nd place, just 78 points behind rivals Highgate Harriers. The B team came 4th in division two with the C team 9th in division two. The vets A team are 2nd in vets division one.
The next match is at Fairlands Valley Park, Stevenage on 9th November.
