Serpentine Grand Prix 1k

Runner in Hyde Park

The third race in the 2013 Serpentine Grand Prix series is the 1k.

Date: Saturday, 29 June
Time: Registration from 8:15am.  You must have registered by 8:45am.  First race at 9.00am.
Registration: at the Lido Cafe, Hyde Park, next to the Serpentine (this is the cafe by the swimming area – not the one that’s close to where you register for the Handicap).

Course: race straight along one of the footpaths that run parallel to Rotten Row (not on Rotten Row itself this year, at the request of The Royal Parks), starting close to West Carriage Drive.   Gently downhill.

Must remember: Serpentine race vest/top.

Post race refreshments at the Lido Cafe.

NO ENTRY FEE – it’s free to run.

Please sign up on the My Events planner if you intend to run to help us plan the race groups.  There will be several races graded on your ability. Please have a think about what time you can run 1k in.

We will have someone to look after bags at the finish but these are left at your own risk – you must not leave bags at the Lido Café.

If you aren’t running but would like to support, I need a few people to help on the morning with course marshalling and recording the runners’ numbers at the finish.  If you would like to help, please let Stephanie Vaatz know – it’s a great way to help your club  – svaatz@yahoo.com

To count for club championship competitions you must:

Be a first claim member of Serpentine Running Club.  Second claim members are welcome to run as non-scorers.
