Green Belt Relay

The Green Belt Relay, organised by The Stragglers, takes place over the weekend 11th/12th May 2013. The race is a two day, multi-stage, multi-terrain relay around London’s Greenbelt countryside and surrounding towns. The route is divided into 22 sections (between 5.7 and 13.8 miles each), and teams consist of 11 runners. This means that runners must run at least twice, once on each day of the race. This is pretty tough as you are racing two days in a row, but it’s also great fun and one of best Serpie weekends away, as well as being an excellent race. We all travel around the course in a few minibuses, supporting other runners as we go. On Saturday night we’ll stay at a hotel near the half-way point. You need to be available for the whole weekend.
We need drivers and navigators for each mini-bus so please tick the box(es) if you’re able to help.
Serpentine members only who would like to be included on one of our teams should register here. The fee payable now is non-refundable and includes the cost of transport (£10) and the evening buffet meal (£18) on Saturday. Other expenses, including the cost of hotel on Saturday (£29 B&B per person sharing a twin room) need to be paid for on the day.
Those who drive a minibus for us on the weekend will have their registration fee refunded in full as a gesture of thanks by the club.
