Help sought at Southern Cross Country Champs, Hampstead – Saturday, 16 February

The rearranged South of England Championships will take place on London’s Parliament Hill Fields, Hampstead Heath on Saturday, 16 February. The 10 race programme attracts the best runners from across the south of the country and there will be plenty of Serpies in the Senior Men’s and Women’s events.
The organisers have asked Serpentine, as London’s largest running club, to help with the course marshalling. I’m looking for 15 marshals. Underfoot conditions for the runners will be extremely testing and there’s a need to deploy more marshals than normal for associated safety reasons, hence this request. You can either do a full day or a morning or afternoon shift.
If you’d like to do the full day, this means you’ll be on duty from 10.15am until 4.30pm. A half day would either be between 10.15am and 1.30pm or from noon to 4.30pm. The SEAA will provide a packed lunch for those people marshalling for the full day plus travel expenses.
If you’d like to help, please email me on MalcolmFrench@aol.com letting me know which option you would like (morning, afternoon or all day). Firm commitments only, please.
Thank you for your support,
Malcolm French
