Trip to English National Cross Country Championships – DEADLINE TO SIGN UP 5PM FRIDAY 21 DECEMBER

This season, the English National Championships return to Herrington Country Park, Sunderland, a venue last used in 2007. Having surveyed interest via MyEvents and doing research on the costs of coach hire versus advance train tickets, it’s actually going to cost the club less to subsidise the train, and the travel will be far quicker and more pleasant!
Assuming we can get the tickets we want, travel detail will be as follows:
- Saturday morning, 23rd February, depart London King’s Cross on the 08:30 train to Durham.
- Local private bus/coach transfer to Herrington Park for the races.
- After the races, local private bus/coach transfer to the Travelodge, Durham. Note: change of hotel.
- Overnight stay in Durham (it’s up to you what you want to arrange for eating and drinking etc.).
- Sunday morning, 24th February, return to London King’s Cross on the 11:56 train.
- The total cost including one night in the hotel (room of two sharing) is £33. No refunds
These arrangements are very much dependent on the availability of sufficient cheap “group-saver advance” tickets on the required trains. Please sign-up now so that we know how many we need to purchase.
Anyone signing up for the club trip will be entered into the race itself. Please note that if you want to run, but are making your own arrangements and are NOT coming on the organised trip, you will need to email Malcolm French to get your name added to the entry list by Friday 21 December latest.
