Green Belt Relay – 19th/20th May 2012

Serpentine have entered four teams as usual in the Green Belt Relay. If you'd like to race please sign up now (via Entry Central). The race is a two day, multi-stage, multi-terrain relay around London's Green Belt countryside and surrounding towns. The route is divided into 22 sections (between 5.7 and 13.8 miles each), and teams consist of 11 runners so everyone needs to run twice – once on each day. This is harder than it sounds: expect to run 18-22 miles over the weekend!
We meet on Saturday morning and travel by minibus (well, four minibuses) to Hampton Court for the start, then follow the race in stages around London until we reach Essex on Saturday evening where we stay in a hotel overnight. On Sunday it's the same format but this time continuing around the southern borders of London to finish back in Twickenham late Sunday afternoon.
We need drivers! If you are willing and able to drive a minibus please volunteer. We cannot take part without at least 8 drivers.
Finally, before registering, please make sure you're really available to race and that you note this in your race diary as last-minute dropouts cause utter havoc with team planning.
There's a lot more info on the Green Belt Relay website and our website.
