J&H and London Triathlon League

Runner in Hyde Park

The Jekyll and Hyde Park Duathlon on Sunday 30th October was the final London League event of the year. Both men's and women's races were won by Serpentine, Richard Philips and Becky Glover respectively. Also scoring for Serpentine were Nick Tory who ran his way up to 5th with the days fastest 2nd run split, Hugh Tory who finish 7th and David Mathew 24th overall

Serpentine easily won the match scoring just 77 point versus 180 for our nearest challenger. We therefore took the maximum 30 points and leapfrogged Full on Tri to claim second place behind Thames Turbo in this year's London Triathlon League.

During the year Turbos won 4 races and scored the maximum 120 point while Serpentine won 3 and placed 4th in one event to finish with 117 points. This is a fantastic achievement, especially given that prior to this season we had never won an event and this year we won 3. It's our highest ever league finish (last year we were 5th).

To cap it all more people turned out than ever before helping us to easily win the mob match for the first time since 2006. All in all a great season and thanks must go to Captain Angus Beaumont for pulling the team together for the last event, dropping reminders to the egroup regarding events as well as turning up and scoring for the team.
