Congratulations to Zoe & Andy, the new club aquathlon champions.

Runner in Hyde Park

Serpentine triathletes are generally not known for their swimming prowess and so an aquathlon is an unlikely event for us to do well at, however it also includes the other discipline that we are very good at. So on a damp Sunday morning in deepest south London 22 Serpies ventured out to firmly stamp their mark on the London triathlon league by finishing 1st overall, something we have not done in the last 3 years even in our own race (Jekyll & Hyde) with our best athletes. This was entirely down to the sheer numbers that competed that gave us the breadth and depth of athletes across categories. Scorers were Andy Greenleaf 1st overall putting over a minute into last year's winner and included a complete kit change in transition, Jon Rae continuing his great form in the league with 8th Overall, Eoin O'Connell 2nd vet and was great to get him out racing again, Chris Graham  11th overall but looked as though he was enjoying the run a little too much, Zoe Birchenough – who missed out on the podium by 1 second.

Full Serpie results in the usual place.

Well done to everyone who raced you have all contributed to us now sitting 2nd in the overall league and 2nd in the mob rankings. See the Triathlon London website for the full tables.

Crystal Palace is the next race on the 22nd, if you have a place please try and race as everyone counts.

Clash of the Tritons Aquathlon on the 13th Aug still has places so if you're available then please sign up http://www.greenwichtritons.org.uk/2011-race-details.html
