Results from SEAA 12 & 6 Stage Relays

Our men's team matched their best-ever placing in the 12 stage relays, coming 11th in a stronger field than last year, although their time of 4:26:52 was around 8 minutes faster showing a great improvement over 12 months. Nick Torry broke Chris Blackburn's long-standing (since 2005) record for the fastest short stage with a time of 17:06 for the 5.506km course. The B team also set a new record time of 04:50:55 and were first B team to finish. Both teams will be going to Sutton Park to compete at the national relays.
Meanwhile the women (unfortunately only one team this year due to drop-outs) got off to a fantastic start when Sylvie Lloyd finished in 3rd place at the end of stage 1 in a time of 19:23, easily breaking the club's previous record, although with some much stiffer competition than last year the team eventually finished in 6th place.
