1066 Relay – sign up now!

Runner in Hyde Park

The 1066 relay is a five stage off-road team relay, organised by Hastings Runners, following the route of the 1066 Country Walk from Pevensey to Rye. Starting off in the grounds of Pevensey Castle, the route goes past such iconic landmarks as Herstmonceux Castle and Battle Abbey before crossing through Battle Great Wood towards Westfield. The final two stages take in some glorious countryside, in particular the views from Icklesham and Winchelsea over the Brede valley, before a fast, flat finish along National Cycle Network route 2 into Rye. Stages vary from 3.20 miles to 11.13 miles, and the total race distance is 33.30 miles
