SEAA Masters XC – 11 December, Shuttleworth, Beds

Runner in Hyde Park

The South of England Masters cross country champs will be on Saturday, 11 December.  The venue is Shuttleworth College, Old Warden, nr. Biggleswade, Beds.  We are hoping that we can build on the fantastic upsurge in cross country interest in the club to get a really good Masters turnout – it's too many years since we won team medals at this event.  (We'll also be in touch in due course about the Middlesex Masters in early February)

Entry is open to all first-claim Serpies, ladies age 35 and up, with men 40 and over.

The women's team age groups are 35+, 45+ and 55+.  Team age groups for the men are 40+, 50+, 60+ and 70+. Individual awards will be in five year age bands.

Jan Farmer (Janet.Farmer@international.gc.ca) will be coordinating the women's entry and Malcolm French will be taking the men's entry (MalcolmFrench@ao.com)  so please drop them a line if you are interested, even if tentatively.

We will sort out our transport arrangements once we know who might like to go. Public transport options are very limited.  The women's race and also that for men 70+, which is 6km, is at 11.43am.  Men 50-69 run 10km, starting at 11.00am.  Men in the 40+ age group also run 10k, starting at 2.10pm – a good warm up for the Serpie Xmas party! (The programme also includes the Southern Inter-Counties competition for young athletes and senior women)

We will need your England athletics registration number please – by Sunday November 7.
