Permit No 146:10
Venue : Rowney Warren, Chicksands

Start : 11am. Distance : c.5 miles.
We have permission from the Forestry Commission to host the 2nd race of the Sunday League in the attractive surroundings of Rowney Warren Woods. The 3 lap course is challenging and technical with the distance being approximately 5 miles. The recommended shoe choice would be fell, or possibly trail, shoes. A short hard gravel portion on each lap together with numerous tree roots negates the use of spikes.
Car parking is limited so we would recommend that you car share as much as possible.
There are no toilets within the Forest area. For those using the A1M the best option would be the Baldock services at Junction 10.
A private mobile refreshment concern normally operates from the forest car park.
Travel: There is no public transport. Rowney Warren is in Sandy Lane, off of the A600 (signposted to Chicksands). It is just south of Deadman's Cross and to the north of Shefford. There's a driving route finder on www.chicksandsbikepark.co.uk/getting_here/
Please remember that the forest is controlled by the Forestry Commission and therefore parking must be only in the designated area or along the outside road. We are using the east side of the woods where cycling is prohibited so bikes should not be a problem. It is popular with dog walkers but hopefully they will soon realise what is going on and not interfere.
All entries taken on the day. Entry is free. Please run in a Serpie top
