SEAA 4-stage Women’s Road Relays

Runner in Hyde Park

When our new women's road and cross-country captain – Natalie Kolodziej – told me the team she'd got together for the 4-stage relays in Aldershot, I was quietly confident that they were going to do rather well. In fact, they broke all Serpie records for this race!

A team – 3rd place overall in 54:59, with the fastest ever performance by a Serpie team over this course and the fastest ever individual leg by Mariah McConnaughy who completed leg 1 of the 3.851km course in 13:30. Every women on the A team broke 14mins.

B team – 12th overall in 58:59, a time similar to our A teams the last few years.

C team – 39th overall in 1:06:39. This is a time similar to our A teams from 2003/4 and included a run by Natalie who's coming back from injury and probably shouldn't have been racing.

46 teams raced. The gold medal team was Aldershot, Farnham & District AC; their team included Steph Twell and Charlotte Purdue, both of whom are going to the Commonwealth Games this week, which puts our 3rd place into perspective. Our full results:
